La Brea Tar Pits New Museum
Details
The La Brea Tar Pits—the world’s richest Ice Age fossil site—is undergoing a once-in-a-generation transformation. The reimagining of the 13-acre campus brings together museum, park, active excavation, collections, and research to create a more accessible and connected experience of discovery. The project opens more of the scientific process to visitors while using discoveries from the past to illuminate larger questions about climate, extinction, adaptation, and our changing world.
As Associate Director, Special Projects, I oversaw exhibition design and content development in collaboration with international design firm Kossmanndejong, serving as the primary liaison between the design team and the Museum’s in-house exhibition team, curators, exhibit developers, scientists, and executive leadership. Working at the intersection of vision and execution, I helped translate an ambitious institutional and scientific vision into a cohesive visitor experience—aligning content, design, media, interactives, and the visitor journey while navigating the complexities of a major capital project.
